Why Harvey?
Families today are surrounded by conflicting and confusing health messages, making it difficult to know what recommendations are reliable. Harvey was created to help bridge that gap.Â
As a friendly, curious dog, Harvey models best practices grounded in science through everyday situations that children understand. His stories help children learn healthy behaviors while giving parents and grandparents a trustworthy starting point for conversations—without fear, pressure, or unrealistic expectations.Â

Susan K. Laird, DNP, MSN, RN, CPC, BCPA, GC-C Co-Founder & President
Susan K. Laird is a Doctor of Nursing Practice, registered nurse, certified professional coach, board-certified patient advocate, and certified grief counselor. Her career spans clinical care, public health leadership, and health communication. She founded Healthy With Harvey to help families navigate children’s health information with confidence, clarity, and trust.Â
David C. Laird, MSIS, MSHA Co-Founder
David C. Laird is a healthcare information systems and administration professional with experience supporting pediatric healthcare organizations. He serves as a volunteer co-founder and supports the organization’s digital infrastructure and accessibility.Â
