Harvey gets a checkup

Story

Hi again—it’s Harvey. Today was my checkup day! I brushed my fur extra well and wore my lucky blue bandana. When I got to the clinic, everyone was friendly. The nurse weighed me—wow, seventy pounds!—and said I’ve grown since last year. My doctor listened to my heartbeat and smiled. “Strong and steady,” she said. Then she told me I was due for a little vaccine to keep me healthy. I took a slow, deep breath, looked at Mom, and before I knew it—poke!—it was done! Just like that. The doctor gave me a sticker that said “Brave Buddy.” I wagged so hard my tail thumped against the exam table. Now, as I drift to sleep, I’m thankful for the people who help me stay healthy—my doctor, nurse, and everyone who keeps us safe. My arm feels fine, and my heart feels proud. Good night, stars. Good night, brave buddies everywhere.
