Harvey and the Kindness Cloud

Note to Parents: Invite your child to share one kind thing they did—or saw—today. Kindness reflection builds empathy and security.

Story

Hi, it’s me—Harvey. I’m looking out my window at the stars. They blink like tiny fireflies. The clouds are soft tonight—like fluffy pillows floating across the sky. Today, something special happened. I shared my favorite ball with a new friend at the park. At first, I didn’t want to. I was worried she might not give it back. But when I did, her tail wagged so fast it made me laugh! We took turns, and soon other friends joined in. When I got home, I thought about how sharing made me feel—warm inside, like sunshine after rain. I think that feeling was kindness. Mom says kindness is like a cloud that floats above us. When you do something kind, your cloud gets bigger and softer, and it rains down good feelings on everyone around you. So tonight, before I close my eyes, I’m imagining my kindness cloud spreading over my friends, my family, and even you. I hope it keeps you cozy and calm too. Good night, world. Let’s all sleep under a big, kind cloud.
