Harvey Plays Safely at the Playground
I love the playground.
There are slides and swings and places to climb. Sometimes I get so excited that my paws want to go faster than my brain. One day, I ran toward the slide without looking—and almost bumped into another kid climbing up.
I stopped just in time.
I remembered the playground rules: take turns, watch where you’re going, and stay where the grown-ups can see you. I waited my turn and checked to make sure the slide was clear before I went down.
Playing safely didn’t make the playground less fun. It made it better. Everyone stayed happy, and no one got hurt.
That night, I felt proud. I learned that being careful helps everyone enjoy playtime—even me.

A Note for Parents and Caregivers
Playgrounds are places for joy and movement. Safety reminders work best when they’re calm, consistent, and paired with encouragement—not warnings. Helping children pause, look, and notice others builds awareness without dampening fun.
